Jiří Karásek

As a graphic designer, Jiří works in corporate identity, package design and web design, and often combines 3D and animation in his work. In addition, he works in film, and was involved in developing a graphic style for Czech Television programmes. In his career, Jiří has collaborated with the Oficina graphic design firm and was a member of the editorial board of the Komfortmag magazine. He has been working with Studio Marvil since 2006. While studying graphic design, Jiří spent time in The Hague, the Netherlands, where under the leadership of Gert Dumbar, he launched the rather dubious Typographical Cabaret. At the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Jiří studied under Rostislav Vaňek and his work culminated in a dissertation on extra-terrestrial communication. He has received several prizes, including from the Czech Design Center, and the Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year, D&AD London, European Design Awards, and Grafia Finland prizes.
