Torsten Meyer-Bogya
Communication Designer

Torsten Meyer-Bogya is living and working in Kiel. After his studies in industry design in Kiel and Vienna he studied communication design. He has been specializing in corporate design and exhibition design in the 25 years subsequent to his diploma. Furthermore, he is working as a consultant and networker for institutions, companies and government agencies and he is creating communication and marketing concepts. He also has tenure at the Fachhochschule Kiel (University of Applied Sciences Kiel), specializing in Economics. Thanks to his activities from 2011 to 2016 he has helped develop the Atelierhaus Im Anscharpark in Kiel into an incubator.
He has been volunteering as chairman of the Design-Initiative Nord e.V. for 17 years; he is responsible for the programme, including talks, events, and the design prizes of SchleswigHolstein. The design initiative is also responsible for co-financing the post for design economy that has been created in 2015 in the cluster for design economy and digital economy Schleswig-Holstein and which is situated in the communal economic promotion.
Meyer-Bogya has been curating the Muthesiusprize and chairing the jury for the association of the Muthesius Kunsthochschule - University of Fine Arts and Design in the years 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. In 2012 he has been a member of the jury for the renowned CorporateDesignPrize and BerlinerType.
He has been representing freelance designers from 2011 on in his position as member of the board of the Alliance of German Designers which is one of Europe’s biggest associations of freelance designers.
